Hotels Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre region rises in a colorful coastline setting located at the feet of the Ligurian Apennines, scattered between Cape Mesco and the Montenero promontory, in the province of La Spezia. The name means Five Lands, that is 5 fishermen villages called Monterosso, Corniglia, Vernazza, Manarola and Riomaggiore, five delicious localities set sheer to the sea, where cultivated areas slope down amid olive groves, citruses and vineyards characterizing the fantastic shoreline, the ideal scenary for romantic walks on the coast.

- Riomaggiore is the first one of the five villages that you will meet if coming from La Spezia. On the village hilltop is set the Sanctuary of Madonna di Montenero, that it dominates the cape and the small valley of Riomaggiore it appears like a spell, with its tower shaped houses rising up in the gulf skyline.
- Manarola, is a locality in the Riomaggiore municipality set on the banks of the Grippo stream. The village is connected to Riomaggiore through the famous Via dell'Amore, the love path which is dug in the cliff, sheering on the blue sea waters. You will remain attracted by the beautiful church of San Lorenzo, the most important monument in the village, and the dark falesia rocks.
- Corniglia is the smallest village and also the highest one, defended over a spur of one hundred meters above the sea level, dominating the sea. It deserves a visit to the church of San Pietro with its simple elegant facade, the fortifications raised from Genoa overhanging on the sea and the ancient castle. Of particular relief there are many terraced vineyards and gardens.
- Vernazza is the most charming locality with a small natural port and the medieval hamlet, characterized by narrows streets and stairs ladders, the cylindrical tower of the castle on the sea, and from the entitled church to Margherita Saint.
- Monterosso al Mare is the largest village, easy to reach by car from Levanto but very difficult to park it. The locality is rich in beaches and it is advised to admire the ruins of the castle, the Tower Dawn, the Gotic church of San Giovanni Battista and the friars Cappuccini convent  with the church of Saint Francisco.

For visitors wanting to get to the Cinque Terre it is sugegst to use the train or the boat services, if the day is beautiful. Roads are winding and veryy small and it is difficult to find a parking space.
Sharp inclines and tilled terraced hillsides characterize such a marvellous coastline, an ideal setting for romantic walks on sheer cliffs.
