Cuneo is located in a 'plateau' with the peculiar shape of a triangle or wedge, this last word has originated its name in Italian, set between the river Stura di Demonte and the torrent Gesso, close to the French border in Piedmont.

The old city conserves famous monuments and under the religious profile, a visit to the Dome of Cuneo wich is entitled to the Madonna del Bosco, to the church of Santa Maria della Pieve and the church of Sant'Ambrogio are a must.
Among the historical buildings you can admire San Giovanni Palace and other noble dwellings such as Palazzo Lovera di Maria and Palazzo Ricci d'Andonno.
The Civic Museum of Cuneo is situated in the ancient monastry of San Francesco and it accommodates some valuable historical and ethnografical collections.
It is moreover possible to go up on top of the Civic Tower and admire the beautiful panorama over the Alps and the surrounding landscape, but only in the afternoon festivities.
Cuneo boasts many pedestrian portico-galleries which they go from the historical city center to the new city zone, they are an ideal meeting point and useful pedestrian walks with many storees and trade centers.
The modern part of the city is well represented by the Viale degli Angeli, a green zone with Art Nuveau villas, the Resistance Park and the Sanctuary of the Angels, furthermore in the locality Madonna dell’Olmo is set the Tornaforte villa with its pretty Park and garden.
Cuneo welcomes tourists offering various accommodations and in the city there are many hotels, lodges, residence, farm holidays and bed and breakfast.
One of the greater attractions in Cuneo is the possibility of living in contact with nature, amid a range of landscapes that it goes from mountains to hills and in the plane areas with the smaller village centers.
