Brisighella is a small medieval town set in the beautiful valley of Lamone, in the province of Ravenna. The village retains all the charm of its origins and is immersed in an enchanting landscape with a still unspoiled nature. The old town is very characteristic with small squares and narrow streets that pass through historic buildings and very pretty churches. During the summer season here are held several festivals that allow the visitor to enjoy fascinating re-enactments of ancient times and the possibility to taste some local food and wines.
Brisighella is also an important spa, thanks to the healing properties of its water sources, already known in Roman times. The new premises of the spa centre are located in a nice park, rich with ancient trees, that is the ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday. The village also offers interesting suggestions of historical and cultural character. It is possible to visit some monuments of great artistic value that arise on the three rocky spurs that surround the village.
The first one is the Manfrediana Fortress, built in the fourteenth century by the family that ruled this area. Then we find the Sanctuary of Monticino, dating back from the eighteenth century, and finally the Clock Tower, located on a spur overhanging the village. Also worth visiting the old "Via degli Asini", street of the asses, a picturesque elevated road that offers a splendid view over the valley. Brisighella is situated a few steps from the Carnè natural park, ideal for short trips on foot to discover the beauty of the Apennine mountains.
