Trevi like many other Umbrian towns, because of its strategic position, had to undergo across the centuries many invasions, rapes, civil wars, destructions and reconstructions.
To the Umbrian people the Romans succeeded, and Trevi became an important centre of the Flaminia way.
With the end of the Roman Empire, Trevi which had already become Christian thanks to Bishop Emiliano, was occupied by the Longobards and entered the Duky of Spoleto (VIII sec.).
