Hostels Alba

Alba is the most important city in Langhe region, a beautiful hilside territory set backwards Liguria Apennines and that it has always recalled many tourists for its valuable agricultural products and the evocative landscape that it boasts.
The city is situated in the Tanaro valley and Alba has a mostly medieval aspect with the towers and the historic village is encircled by the Roman walls.
Nevertheless in autumn both the truffle and the wine become the true masters of the city and in Alba the Tartufo's National Fair and the Palio take place, right when the truffle perfumes intensely and the bunches of dolcetto and nebbiolio grapes are pressed in the wine cellars.
A great festivity, that it recalls yearly many tourists and expert estimators in order to appreciate those magical feelings and the thrilling scents of Alba truffles and wines.
The visit of Alba offers many interesting occasions, the Dome is in the piazza Risorgimento where the colorful medieval Towers and the Town Hall Palace can be also admired, in the adjacent via Cavour there is the Loggia dei Mercanti and the Civic Museum is situated in the Palazzo della Maddalena.
Other churches are scattered in the city as San Domenico in the via Calissano, the church of Santa Maria Maddalena in the via Vittorio Emanuele II and in the piazza Pertinace there is the church of San Govanni Battista.
In the outskirtses of Alba there are many interesting localities as Grinzane Cavour with the castle which it was the residence of the great statesman, Guarene with the Provana castle and its park, Magliano Alfieri with its majestic baroque castle and finally in Monticello d'Alba is set the imposing Roero castle.
It deserves to also advise to visit other centers set a little more distant from Alba, as to Barbaresco, Barolo, La Morra and to Serralunga d'Alba, where vineyards and castles form an unique landscape.
