Lamporecchio is a city located in the province of Pistoia that it extends on a partially hilly and plain territory, a convenient location in the center of Tuscany and it is set between two natural jewels of this region: the Marsh of Fucecchio and the gentle hills of Montalbano. It as a modern city famous for its typical Tuscany cakies named "brigidini" and it is set along the main road that from San Baronto gets down towards Empoli.

Scattered on the territory there are charming villages set in the premises of Lamporecchio and other small localities of valuable detached historical-artistic interest are situated in the hillside area of Montalbano, as the village of San Baronto (349 m above the sea level). The village offers to visitors the beautifulst landscape of Montalbano with its sweet hills amid olive groves, cypresses and vineyards, to enjoy the serene natural scenary, staying in a typical Tuscan locality.

Sant Baronto is set along the hill pass that from Montalbano gets down towards the plain of Pistoia and Prato, a terrace dominating a great part of the valley and since many generations, it is the native country of many particularly good professional kitchen chefs, very much appreciated in the Italian prestigious restaurants. This prerogative has seen growing many tourist activities also in their native village where they are some good restaurant and also hotel, lodge or bed & breakfast and farm holidays offering a pleasant vacation in the tranquillity of the place surrounded by an evocative natural atmosphere.

At a short drive from San Baronto is set the village of Vinci with its medieval castle and famous to be the native place of Leonardo. An interesting destination in order to visit the artist birthplace house, the museum and the library of Leonardo da Vinci.
