Bonassola is a charming small village on the sea located at limit of the Cinque Terre Park, at the back of the beach in a small valley close to the hillside set at the slopes of the Liguria Apennines, in the province of La Spezia.

The locality of Bonassola boasts a beautifulst landscape that spaces from the limpid blue sea to the mountain and the gulf has one of the most evocative beaches in the Riviera Ligure di Levante. The fine sandy beach stretches between the Punta del Carlinoo and the cape of the Madonnina della Puntap, far away from the phrenetic confusion and any type of industrial activity, amid the pure air and the Mediterranean spot vegetation.

The history of Bonassola, seems has had origin earlier than 1000 b.C. from the Tigulli, an ancient Liguria population of  Greek origins and among the most interesting monuments there are the Castle and the Tower of the Ardoino, dating back to the XVI century, the church of S. Caterina (XVII) and the native house of Matteo Vinzoni, a famous cartographer of the XVII century.

Many personalities have attended Bonassola, like the American writer Fitzgerald in the Boselli Villa, where he translated in English the Works of Omero and Hemingway extolled it: "gentlest, unforgettable, inexhaustible". The hospitality offers many hotel and bed and breakfast and there is one of the biggest tourist village in the province of La Spezia.

In Bonassola tourists can take advantage of the numerous paths for excursions and walks to reach the evocative localities of Cinque Terre or small hamlets that conserve intact the typical Ligurian villages architecture, amid the nature woods on the hills, rich in flowers and colors in a panorama that astonishes for its beauty. Boat trips on the sea to the small bays with quiet beaches and uncontaminated sea bottoms for the scuba divers fascination, and many sport and cultural activities.
