Hostels Feltre

Feltre is a city in the province of Belluno, set between the Piave and the Brenta valleys in the beautiful frame of Dolomites, in particular of the Feltrine.
The village has two different faces: the ancient part is set on the Colle delle Capre and we can reach through the historical Porta Imperiale, where in the past the emperors entered in the city. From here we turn into via Mezzaterra, characterized by sixteenth century palaces with pretty frescoes, and at the end there is Piazza Maggiore, the true historical center of the city, that rises on the place of the ancient roman forum. Here we find Palazzo della Ragione, that accommodates the Senna theatre, where Goldoni represents its first comedys.

Then we arrive in the new part of Feltre where the dome rises, to whose inside can be admired a Byzantine cross of the A.D. 542, and the basilica of Santi Vittore e Corona. In front of the basilica there is the village of Arsiè, set on the omonimo lake between the Grappa mount and the plateau of Asiago, that is an ideal destination for the passionate of trekking and history, for the paths that reach the Forte Leone and Cima Campo, places symbol of the Great War.

In the winter season Feltre attracts a lot of tourists that can reach the skiing area of Monte Avena, in the PreAlps Feltrine, that offers many alpine and cross country tracks, particularly adapted for the families. The mount, that is situated near the National Park Dolomiti Bellunesi, allows to make evocative excursions on the snow.
