Hotels Anacapri

Anacapri is the other main center of the island, sure less society and famous regarding Capri, but equally exclusive and colorful. The locality surprises the tourists for the wild beauty of its landscapes, the narrow lanes of the historical center that go through the characteristic white houses, the paths that reach the sea. The main square, Piazza Vittoria, is rich of fashion boutiques, bar and restaurants and a chair lift operate from here up to Monte Solaro, the island's highest point. At the top there is a ruined castle and a cafè with a marvellous view.

Anacapri's principal sights are the church of San Michele, with its beautiful paintings, and the villa-museum San Michele, built by the swedish writer Axel Munthe on the ruins of an ancient roman residence. In its inside we can admire old furnishings, busts, bronze statues apart from a lush garden and a chapel of the X century. At a short distance from the villa there is the hermitage of Santa Maria di Cetrella, overhanging the bay of Marina Piccola which offers an evocative panorama.

But the true attraction of Anacapri is sure the famous Blue Grotto, probably the island's best-known feature. The cove is very impressive thanks to the colors of its innard caused by sunlight entering through the water. The place is reachable both on foot than with the visits guided by boat. This grotto was known already to the romans that here constructed a landing place for the fishermen.
From the quiet Anacapri we can obviously reach in a short time the lively and luxurious Capri.
