Apulia is called for its particula shape also the heel of the "boot", being set in the most south-easthern part of Italy, a mostly plain landscaped region with the exception of modest elevations in the Gargano cape and the Murge plateau. The fabulous Tremiti Islands have also to be visited, set at short distance from the coast, for they offer unforgattable scenes.
Finally the religious tourism, that concentrates around San Giovanni Rotondo, where is set the sanctuary of San Padre Pio da Petralcina, the Devout Father. For all this reasons Puglia almost represents an ideal destination for travellers wishing to alternate the pleasures of the precious nature and the sea to artistic and cultural journeys.
